Vanilla Cookies

Here is a simple and delicious recipe for vanilla cookies:


  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.

  4. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  6. Scoop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

  7. Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes, or until they are lightly golden on the edges.

  8. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Enjoy! You can also try adding in some chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the dough for added flavor.
